So much for Biden being a foreign policy genius, huh?

More like, when you give all your leverage away, that far-right scumbag Netanyahu humiliates you in public. Biden was never serious about getting a ceasefire or he would have threatened to stop providing weapons and money to Israel. The fact that this option was never even on the table shows how empty that talk was from the get-go.

It's time to stop taking the kabuki theatre the American government is playing seriously. The US government sees no problem with Palestinians being the victims of ethnic cleansing, massacres and plausibly genocide.

Here's why a lot of people vote for Trump: he gives off the (false) appearance of being a man of action. People don't necessarily care about the results, they care about APPEARING strong and decisive because they hope this might be used to their benefit. Trump is a rule-breaker and some people like that he's a rule-breaker who doesn't give a damn about how it looks to others. People didn't care about the substance of what Trump was selling but he bent the American institutions to his will and to a lot of people a strongman who "gets things done" is appealing in times of crisis because people project the notion onto him that he will break the rules for the benefit of the public. That's not what those strongmen usually end up doing but it's how demagogues get into power.

Meanwhile, the Democrats didn't even want to make more exceptions to the filibuster to get their own agenda through or to go back to the talking filibuster and every time the Parliamentarian provides guidance that the Dems don't agree with, most of them just lie down and stop pushing for their agenda. Republicans have no such scruples when they get into power. So when Dems make excuses for why they can't get things done, this turns a lot of people off because they look at the disregard that Trump and Republicans have for established rules and norms and go 'why aren't the Dems fighting for their agenda like that?'

The rule of law is important but it's undeniable that bureaucrats who constantly wag their fingers at you and tell you "well, actually, here's why your important problems can't be solved by us..." are not exactly endearing themselves to a suffering population that needs some fundemantal problems to be addressed (homelessness, wealth inequality, institutional racism, police brutality and criminal justice reform, etc.) by their political representatives. Trump DEFINITELY won't solve those problems (just like any other Republican) because he doesn't care about anyone but himself. He will break the rules to get revenge and for his own benefit. The public doesn't matter in his mind. But in the eyes of a big part of the Amercian population he APPEARS to care enough to disarm any policy or political criticisms people might throw at him.

The U.S. economy added 2.23 million jobs in 2024, including 256,000 in the final full month of Joe Biden's presidency.

  • * Bush oversaw 5.2 million job gains.
  • * Bill Clinton has a stronger record than any of his successors, with a total of 23 million jobs added, although his annual average trails that of Biden.
