NY Times - Biden Administration Announces Indo-Pacific Deal, Clashing With Industry Groups
The Biden administration announced Saturday that it had reached an agreement with 13 other countries in the Indo-Pacific region to coordinate supply chains, in an effort to lessen the countries’ dependence on China for critical products and allow them to better weather crises like wars, pandemics and climate change.

The supply chain agreement is the first result of the administration’s trade initiative in the region, called the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework. Negotiations are continuing for the other three pillars of the agreement, which focus on facilitating trade and improving conditions for workers, expanding the use of clean energy, and reforming tax structures and fighting corruption.

Axios - Jeffries, McCarthy cut side-deal to save debt ceiling bill
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) quietly cut a deal for Democrats to vote to advance the bipartisan debt ceiling bill to a final vote, according to four Democratic lawmakers briefed on the matter.

Why it matters: The 52 Democratic votes were necessary for the bill to clear a procedural hurdle after 29 Republicans voted against moving it to last night's final vote, in which it was approved 314-117.

The details of the deal have been tightly held, but a source said they expect more details to be made available soon.

The deal involves boosting federal spending set aside for projects in Democrats’ districts, what’s known as earmarks or “community project funding,” according to two senior lawmakers.

One lawmaker said the deal boosts earmarks to Democrats to bring them "closer to parity" with what Republicans receive in such funds in the GOP-led House.

On Wednesday, two Democratic senators, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Jon Tester of Montana, approved a procedure that would have put the bill up for a vote in the Senate. The bill would have needed 10 Democratic votes to have a floor vote. Former Democrat and now independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona joined the two Democrats and entire GOP caucus in voting in favor of the procedure.

The sky could fall, and it wouldn't phase. The Biden Administration Dementia Joe went ninety-seven days without meeting With Speaker McCarthy and went everywhere in foreign countries while American retirees were nervous about their livelihoods. He caved to Speaker McCarthy and gave him everything, but not before Joe Biden proclaimed for ninety-seven days. Joe Biden said I wouldn't negotiate. He even chipped away at the green policies. And student loan policies that his white house championed. Americans won't forget how close we were to a recession. Not even the media will bail him out of that one. The RNC should put that in every ad.
