Kamala Harris is neither the best nor worst choice for VP. Biden and Harris are better than Trump, that was never even a question, but their policies are nowhere near good enough. Vote for them this year but be under no illusions: this signifies a shift towards the right for the Democratic party and people will have to fight them to get progressive/left-wing policies from them.

Yep. I don't know about a rightward shift but back to the 'capable manager of the declining U.S. empire' style of the Obama years where the rich got richer and Congress got eventually taken over by Republicans.
After mentioning Bloomberg, Wall Street executives who want Trump out list a consistent roster of appealing nominees that includes former Vice President Joe Biden and Sens. Cory Booker of New Jersey, Kirsten Gillibrand of New York and Kamala Harris of California. Others meriting mention: former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, former Maryland Rep. John Delaney and former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke, though fewally know his positions.
Bankers’ biggest fear: The nomination goes to an anti-Wall Street crusader like Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) or Sanders. “It can’t be Warren and it can’t be Sanders,” said the CEO of another giant bank. “It has to be someone centrist and someone who can win.”
2% of all registered is a lot in a close election. That's Clinton's leading margin in the popular vote in 2016. The upside is that Klownye received only 2% of the black vote in this poll - which means the bulk of his support is not coming from black voters in order to get to 2% of all registered voters.
As San Francisco DA, Harris refused to seek the death penalty — even on a case where a very respected police officer was tragically killed. Marijuana sales cases were routinely reduced to misdemeanors. And marijuana possession cases were not even on the court’s docket. They were simply not charged. Unless there was a large grow case, or a unique circumstance, this was the reform-minded approach then-DA Harris’ office took. The accusations about marijuana prosecutions being harsh during her tenure are absurd. The reality was quite the opposite.
Harris and I talked about my client and the exploitation of young girls happening on a constant basis. Unlike her predecessors, she did something about it. She stopped prosecuting young girls for prostitution — acknowledging that they were victims who needed treatment for trauma and not criminals who needed to be incarcerated.

I know her record. She's very progressive on various issues, but also wildly conservative on others. She has denied investigations into police misconduct multiple times, for example. She's a byproduct of Clinton-era "tough on crime" policing and policy, and made a habit of prosecuting non-violent offenders, even while reducing the overall incarnation for marijuana and third felony offenders for less serious crime. She has a weirdly hop-scotch record in that sense.
Most progressives I personally know strongly dislike her. I'm more mild than they are, but I still think she has a very problematic record.
