This whole “let’s allow Trump to walk free because we think this will unify and heal the country” crap is one day going to smack someone in the face pretty hard

Biden is just goung to be a regular, shitty, divided America. But even that is better than America on a brink of another Civil War during Trump's attempt at dictatorship.

2/3 of House Republicans voted to object to the results of the 2020 election on Wednesday after the coup attempt so they can shut the fuck up about their fake healing.
Tell that to Biden.

What he might succeed in bringing is that same extremely fragile status quo that was there in the before times, always on the brink of explosion. Then, after a few more years, America will again find itself in a very similar position. Actually heard Bernie speak about a similar thing on CNN the other day. The dems simply cannot have the luxury of doing nothing or in other words, more of the same, this time. If they don’t push for the most progressive policies possible, there’s a very high chance (historically) they will lose both the presidency and senate again. And what happens then? Who knows! People have to remember it took an imbecile with a cult of personality to bring a massive country pretty damn close to self destruction. Now imagine if an actually conniving and extremely intelligent (and evil!) person, like McConnell but with a personality and a strong social media presence, could abuse a position like that. Because a fragile status quo is easy to exploit.

Over 70 million of people who voted for Trump in 2020 exist. And they’re not going anywhere, and you simply may not be able to “hug it out” with them. And it’s realistic that more of the same Obama style will simply end up being not enough at a cost too high.

Yup. Dems should assume they only have majority till 2022 and act accordingly.
