Do you hope to attract a man? Why do you feel better with makeup and dresses on than without?" etc.
I don't see that as a problem honestly. Guys wear things they think girls will like as well all the time, it goes both ways. There's nothing wrong with that if that is what you want to do. Feminism should be about choice, "radical feminists" telling women what they should do is more harmful and is actually pretty regressive.
Ruth wrote:When it comes to pornography, I kind of get their point though. I ain't no expert, but it is pretty objectifying and toxic to the image of women and can shape how men see us. But then again who's to say some women can't enjoy this sort of thing - maybe some do, and if they do, I don't think people can really come up and say it's wrong of them. Sometimes it's not really that deep. Besides, since it's become less of a taboo (I think lol?) for women to watch pornography, maybe the industry will shift the "representation" and treatment of women will change, or at least offer ugh more choices lol? So yeah I didn't agree with porn ban either.
Once again, this goes into "radical feminists" telling women what they should be doing. If a woman wants to be in porn or enjoy watching porn, so be it. As long as she's happy and not pressured into doing it, it honestly should not be a problem. That being said there is obviously a lot of women out there getting into porn for pretty fucked up reasons and that is not a good a thing. From what I imagine women are actually treated a lot better than male performers in porn (paid a lot more for one thing).

Basically how they describe "radical feminism" is pretty stupid and I say this as someone who very much falls into "liberal feminism".

Women do get paid more in porn but I don't know if being paid more makes up for the number of stories out there where women recount being harassed on set, being forced to do certain positions against their will, getting internal bleeding from some of the scenes because the partner was too aggressive, etc.

I'm assuming that the industry is getting better and better about this stuff. Jenna Jameson wrote in her autobiography all the shit that went on to make those scenes happen. It was not pretty.

There was one pornographer who came out and said that the reason why he directed hardcore porn was because all his life beautiful women would turn him down. Hardcore porn was his way of punishing those beautiful women and he enjoyed seeing the women in such painful positions and he enjoyed seeing them scream out in pain and begging the production to stop.

It's a pretty fucked up industry in a lot of ways.

True, true. I'm no expert on what goes on behind the scenes obviously but I imagine some have fine experiences, some really bad like you said.

I also love wearing pretty rose gold eyeshadows blended out with a little taupe or brown shadow and then doing a small winged eye. I think overall I've become more obsessed with the texture of makeup and seeing it all come together for one glowing makeup look. While I do feel pretty with makeup on, I can still understand that a radical feminist would think that I'm still pretty without makeup on (hell even I think I look pretty without makeup on but at this point, I just really like the ritual of getting ready and the whole process of putting on makeup). A radical feminist would encourage me to save my money and not give anymore to the men who run the makeup companies (however this can be fixed by buying from companies run by women. But then again, even if the company is run by women, would it still be okay?).

I do see how pornography is toxic and damaging to women, but there has been a slight increase of female-led porn production houses. The focus of their porn is a lot more sensual and cute as opposed to the hardcore stuff you see in traditional porn.
What combo? The texture of makeup on my skin is super important for me - no matter how much or little I wear, I just hate to feel super uncomfortable by awful texture and it's the first thing I notice on myself. My skin's better now, but it used to be much worse and during those times I would rarely wear makeup at all, like, if I can't make it look at least somewhat realistic, then fuck it altogether lmao.
As someone who has green eyes, I adore rose gold eyeshadows (colourpop's weenie is perfect) too! Or just any kind of warm toned shades <3
Yeah. I like putting it on. That's why I called it sorta relaxing - I don't really enjoy all of those "5 minute quick" routines or looks, I like taking my time (when I can or am bored) even for the most basic shit (lbr I have heavy eyelids, all I can do is basic lmao) and channeling my inner youtuber lol. jk.

I've been using MAC Studio Sculpt foundation and pairing it with MAC Studio Fix. My nose gets kind of oily after 5 hours so I just powder it a bit.

I also like MAC Studio Tech cream foundation with MAC Studio Fix. Another really great combo. Both of these combos makes it look like I don't have foundation/powder on at all and it makes my skin look really smooth.

I need to put in a ColourPop order. It's been a while since I last bought from them. I love their LaLa and DGAF eyeshadows. Both are really pretty rose golds. And L'Oreal's Amber Rush eyeshadow is super pretty! And this eyeliner is god tier https://www.amazon.com/LOreal-Paris-Cos ... l+eyeliner

Hm. Interesting. MAC's foundations and powders, for some reason, in my mind have a weird connotation of being really heavy duty or powdery and cakey looking, and then there's Face and Body, and it's like tinted greasy water haha. Besides, their undertones always veered either a little too yellow or pink for me. I guess I'll have to go check their foundations in store - I'm kind of looking for a new one, but I guess I'm not incredibly easy to satisfy as I'm not even sure what I want lol. Maybe I'll get a Korean cushion, like Laneige or Hera. Out of the drugstore, I find Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum and Maybelline's Fit Me Matte and Poreless (I was surprised by how much I liked it) to be pretty damn good though. And Innisfree's No Sebum powder is HG for me.

ColourPop's amazing! They get criticized for being like the fast food of the makeup industry, but I honestly don't see any wrong in that - it's targeted towards the younger buyers, so their focus on new trends is justified, besides, if I were to experiment, I wouldn't want to dump stupid amounts of money for that - having decent quality affordable choices is nice. I don't know, I just like them. I got an order from them on Friday (not my first) - some pressed eyeshadows (pretty darn good!), their new ultra blotted lips and Telepathy eyeshadow, which, paired with a few matte warm caramel/orange brown shades, looked AMAZING.
So Lala's basically Weenie haha! I want to try their highlighters next. And I saw them just come out with a couple of collab eyeshadow palettes and one of them looks fantastic, so maybe that too.

I think the women at the MAC store just apply their makeup really really heavy. Same with YouTube people. They apply waaaaayyyyy too much. I don't really go too heavy on the foundation and powder. I'm really easy with the amount I apply and I lightly dust the powder.

I have three ColouPop highlighters, Monster, Smokin' Whistles, and Lunch Money. My favorite is monster. I like pairing it with a light pink blush. The effect is gorgeous. I still need to try out the new ColourPop products. I'm trying really hard not to buy more makeup but like sometimes it's tough lol.

I agree with you on ColourPop. There's nothing wrong with wanting to try out something trendy and save money.

Some questions I didn't really have much of an opinion on or could necessarily break my answer down to an agree to disagree.

I wanted Monster soooo bad, but decided not to get it when I got NYX Duochrome Highlighter in Snow Rose. Which is preeeetty. But I still want Monster lol. And Wisp. Which might be too dark for me, but no one currrr. I've noticed I've fallen in love with highlighters a lot since last summer, which I didn't love all that much when it became super popular, because of the trends (like landing strips on the nose and that kinda shit). But I absolutely adore the glowy, almost glossy kind of look, not shimmery or too metallic.
