Speaker Paul Ryan summed up everything I have told all my republican friends and family Trump ran a terrible group of candidates in 2022. In record time. President Trump cost my party elections in 2018, 2020, and 2022. Pence or DeSantis would be winners in 2024. But we've already seen this movie before Trump got beat by Biden, so he should move on as Bush 41 did thirty years ago because we'll keep losing. He has shrunken the map for republicans. Cost us a senate seat in PA and, more importantly, a red rave! Pence endorsed more qualified people in Gop races. We'd have had a great night had Trump not let his grievous get the better of him.

Politico - Biden on a potential Trump-DeSantis 2024 showdown: 'It'll be fun'

Bad candidates + Dobbs ruling (see polls on abortion rights) + pro-democracy/anti-insurrection stench held the Rs back from the traditional big midterm party drubbing presidents receive. Rs in the legislature also did as well as they did because of redistricting: the removal of Democratic gerrymanders in states such as New York and the shoring up of Republican gerrymanders like in Florida.

Marc Caputo, NBC News: "A senior Trump adviser just confirmed Tues announcement & said 'The media, the corporate elites, and political establishment has all moved in unison against Donald Trump at their own peril. It’s like they want to recreate 2015-2016. Let them. We are doing it again. Buckle up'" "Invites for Trump’s announcement should go out today."

I don't believe Trump will be able to get the nomination after he referred to Jewish and Catholic voters as ungrateful for not coming out harder for him. He has an obvious problem with Catholicism. Trump showed hostility toward Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jeb Bush, Larry Hogan, Chris Christie, Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, and Ron DeSantis President Trump palled around with Robert Jeffress and alienated people. He is never as nasty to protestants as he never paid Rudy Giuliani or endorsed Andrew Giuliani in his race for NY governor, and Rudy would have jumped in front of a train for him. Ron DeSantis polls better against both Biden and Trump in 2024. It is ridiculous for Trump to leave NYC and go to Florida and think he'll win Florida against a terrific governor who flipped liberal counties for the first time in twenty years!

January 6th Committee: “Former President Trump has refused to comply with the Select Committee’s subpoena requiring him to appear for a deposition. His attorneys have made no attempt to negotiate an appearance, and his lawsuit parades out many of the same arguments that courts have rejected repeatedly.” “Donald Trump orchestrated a scheme to overturn a presidential election and block the transfer of power. He is obligated to provide answers to the American people. The committee will evaluate next steps in the litigation and regarding the former President’s noncompliance.”

Trump Family Signs Deal With Saudi Real Estate Developer
WASHINGTON — The Trump family has struck a deal with a Saudi-based real estate company to license its name to a housing and golf complex that will be built in Oman, renewing a swirl of questions about former President Donald J. Trump’s mixing of politics and business just as he appears poised to announce a third presidential candidacy.

News of the deal, the first such international marketing agreement the Trump Organization has negotiated since Mr. Trump left the White House, emerged as the former president already faces a string of investigations into his business.

The project is slated to be built in Muscat, Oman, on a hillside adjacent to the Gulf of Oman, and will include a golf resort, villas and two hotels, a company executive said.

The Trump family is teaming up with Dar Al Arkan, one of Saudi Arabia’s largest real estate companies, for the project.

Deals like this — in which the Trump family gets a cut of condo sales or golf course revenue in exchange for allowing its name to be used — used to be a major source of revenue for the Trump Organization before Mr. Trump was elected president.

CBS News - Trumps had role in fraud scheme, Allen Weisselberg testifies at company's trial
Former Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg testified in court Thursday, describing how Donald Trump and two of his children allegedly participated in a scheme to defraud tax authorities.

Weisselberg said Donald Trump, or at times Eric Trump or Donald Trump Jr., signed checks to pay up to $100,000 for private school tuition for Weisselberg's grandchildren. Weisselberg said he then instructed the company's controller to deduct the $100,000 from his salary, allowing him to report a smaller income. Copies of some of the checks signed by the Trumps have been shown in court.
Attorney General Garland has appointed a special counsel to investigate and handle the Trump investigations.

It's about 1.5 years behind where they should have been. Acting with all the speed of the Sloth from Zootopia.

Trump's problem is he can't get out of his way. We have a run-off in Georgia. And he rushed into the race for President. He's already getting blamed, and rightfully so, for the losses he can't claim to be about America first when he's putting himself above not just the republican party but our nation. If Hershel Walker loses. It's on Trump. Hershel should get Kemp in there to campaign for him. Trump is a cutthroat person. November 15th was the day Mike Pence's memoir came out. That's the day Trump entered the race? And that's the one he selected to undercut a book sale of someone very loyal to him. That man is the only reason I voted for Trump.
