I wrote an essay arguing that political polarization in media and entertainment has undermined the core American value of free speech, particularly in terms of private sector independence and public discourse. Rather than aligning with the left or right, I focused on protecting free expression, including the rights of private companies to establish their own policies and make sponsorship decisions. From this perspective, I agree with Bill Maher that Jimmy’s actions crossed the line of acceptable speech, making the sponsors’ decision to pull support a sensible business choice rather than a regulatory matter. Moreover, the shift in late-night TV toward political commentary—stepping away from Jay Leno’s entertainment-focused approach—has resulted in repetitive, politically charged content. This change has diminished the variety and appeal of these shows, prompting me to stop watching programs like Saturday Night Live and look for less politically inclined alternatives. Additionally, it seems the left selectively applies free speech principles, as reports suggest the Biden White House censored Americans on Google and banned them from YouTube over free speech issues. Disney fired Roseanne Barr and Gina Carano.

The tragedy involving Charlie Kirk highlights the urgent need for more dialogue and less violence. Charlie aimed to reveal how college environments can brainwash individuals, and his death, allegedly involving Taylor Robinson, is deeply tragic for both families. I am also concerned about potential external involvement, as Charlie had started looking into possible connections between Jeffrey Epstein and Mossad before his death. This situation calls for a reevaluation of foreign aid and a thorough investigation, particularly considering the influence of organizations like AIPAC. The lack of response from some political leaders regarding the violence against Charlie is disappointing. Disagreement should never justify violence. Charlie’s loss is heartbreaking; he was a father and husband, and his family now faces immense grief.

People need to stop criticizing Gary Cohen; he's one of the best in baseball. All he did was share his opinion about Shaw missing a game to attend Charlie Kirk's funeral. It's absurd—he’s worked with Keith Hernandez, a staunch Republican, and together they’ve built one of the best broadcast booths for two decades. He deserves respect, and this outrage has gone too far. Leave the 67-year-old man alone. It’s disgusting to see people calling for his job when they probably don’t even watch SNY. While not all the outrage is fake, some insincere people are targeting Gary Cohen over free speech, demanding a future Hall of Famer's job instead of inviting him onto Turning Point for a discussion. This is why I’m independent—both sides have their extremes.

Associated Press - More Americans are unhappy with the way Trump is managing the government, AP-NORC poll shows
The survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research was conducted after Democrats’ recent victories in off-year elections but before Congress took major steps to try to end the longest shutdown in U.S. history. It shows that only 33% of U.S. adults approve of the way the Republican president is managing the government, down from 43% in an AP-NORC poll from March.
Cutting off funding for SNAP food assistance funds after courts told him not to and then fighting it to the Supreme Court will also not endear him to a lot of people that otherwise were tolerating this guy.
