The Washington Post - Justice Dept. investigating Trump’s actions in Jan. 6 criminal probe
People familiar with the probe said investigators are examining the former president’s conversations and have seized phone records of top aides
There are two principal tracks of the investigation that could ultimately lead to additional scrutiny of Trump, two people familiar with the situation said, also speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.

The first centers on seditious conspiracy and conspiracy to obstruct a government proceeding, the type of charges already filed against individuals who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 and on two leaders of far-right groups, Stewart Rhodes and Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, who did not breach the Capitol but were allegedly involved in planning the day’s events.

The second involves potential fraud associated with the false-electors scheme or with pressure Trump and his allies allegedly put on the Justice Department and others to falsely claim that the election was rigged and votes were fraudulently cast.
Trump will use every means to delay being prosecuted and tried. He will beg SCOTUS to save him (again like for the 2020 election) like he accused Musk of doing to him.

At an event at a Trump property that October [2019], Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) predicted that Stone would be found guilty at his trial in Washington the following month but would not "do a day" in prison. Gaetz was apparently unaware they were being recorded by documentary filmmakers following Stone, who special counsel Robert S. Mueller III had charged with obstruction of a congressional investigation.

"The boss still has a very favorable view of you," said Gaetz, stressing that the president had "said it directly." He also said, "I don't think the big guy can let you go down for this."

Gaetz at one point told Stone he was working on getting him a pardon but was hesitant to say more backstage at the event, in which speakers were being filmed for online broadcast. "Since there are many, many recording devices around right now, I do not feel in a position to speak freely about the work I've already done on that subject," Gaetz said.

The lawmaker also told Stone during their conversation that Stone was mentioned "a lot" in redacted portions of Mueller's report, appearing to refer to portions that the Justice Department had shown to select members of Congress confidentially in a secure room. "They're going to do you, because you're not gonna have a defense," Gaetz told Stone.

The New Yorker - Inside the War Between Trump and His Generals
As the President’s behavior grew increasingly erratic, General Mark Milley told his staff, “I will fight from the inside.”

Peter Baker (Twitter): When Trump kept pushing to have a military parade down the streets of Washington, one general pushed back: "It's what dictators do."
Trump soured on generals who he thought should be loyal like he thought Hitler's officers were. “You fucking generals, why can’t you be like the German generals?” Trump demanded. "Which generals?" John Kelly asked. "The German generals in World War II," Trump said.
After Lafayette Square, Milley wrote out a never-delivered resignation letter obtained here for the first time. In it, he wrote Trump: "It’s obvious to me that you don’t hold those values dear and the cause that I serve."
"And lastly," Milley went on, "it is my deeply held belief that you’re ruining the international order, and causing significant damage to our country overseas, that was fought for so hard by the Greatest Generation that they instituted in 1945."
Milley opted against resigning but to stay and resist efforts to politicize the military. "Fuck that shit,” he told his staff. “I’ll just fight him.” He added: “If they want to court-martial me, or put me in prison, have at it. But I will fight from the inside.”

NY Times - F.B.I. Searches Trump’s Home in Florida
The search, according to two people familiar with the investigation, appeared to be focused on material that Mr. Trump had brought with him to Mar-a-Lago, his private club and residence, after he left the White House. Those boxes contained many pages of classified documents, according to a person familiar with their contents.

Mr. Trump delayed returning 15 boxes of material requested by officials with the National Archives for many months, only doing so when there became a threat of action being taken to retrieve them.

Mr. Trump was known throughout his term to rip up official material that was intended to be held for government archives.
