Yeah. Christoph Waltz, for example, won Best Actor in Cannes back in 2009.ArmandFancypants wrote:Cannes doesn't have those categories.BlairCo wrote:But that is a question to ask; who's the lead actress and who's supporting?
Well he was the lead actor in that film while Laurent was the lead actress.Panapaok wrote:Yeah. Sure. I'm just giving this example because he was considered Best Supporting from all the other award competitions.Allstar wrote:Well he was the lead actor in that film while Laurent was the lead actress.Panapaok wrote:Yeah. Christoph Waltz, for example, won Best Actor in Cannes back in 2009.

Not really. Laurent was the lead actress, and everyone else was supporting.Allstar wrote:ent was the lead actress.
Who cares. Irrelevant.
Cannes have a Best Actor and a Best Actress category and it's not unusual for them to award several people from the same film. They don't give films more than one award so when it came to Seydoux and Exarchopolous they threw them in for the Palme.

Yeah but it's not like they can't give a film more than one award. There are many cases. Barton Fink won the Palme d'Or, Best Director and Best Actor for Turturro, for example.ArmandFancypants wrote:Who cares. Irrelevant.

I thought they'd stopped doing that now, though.Panapaok wrote:Yeah but it's not like they can't give a film more than one award. There are many cases. Barton Fink won the Palme d'Or, Best Director and Best Actor for Turturro, for example.ArmandFancypants wrote:Who cares. Irrelevant.
