Yeah. Christoph Waltz, for example, won Best Actor in Cannes back in 2009.

Well he was the lead actor in that film while Laurent was the lead actress.

Who cares. Irrelevant.

Cannes have a Best Actor and a Best Actress category and it's not unusual for them to award several people from the same film. They don't give films more than one award so when it came to Seydoux and Exarchopolous they threw them in for the Palme.

Yeah but it's not like they can't give a film more than one award. There are many cases. Barton Fink won the Palme d'Or, Best Director and Best Actor for Turturro, for example.
