Another description - I'll put this in spoiler tags
In the clip we follow the adventures of Dr. Coster who, after taking a sort of Ted Talk, is hit in the chest by a weapon to radiation. Is given up, but rescued by his partner ( Rebecca Hall ), also a researcher, who along with a colleague ( Paul Bettany ) manages to bring together the synapses of the boyfriend on a computer, through which the scientist returns to communicate with the ' outside. But is it really him? That is, how much of human survive in him, once that artificial intelligence will begin to expand? And until this intelligence to aim well and to be at the service of the people (in the clip resurrected the doctor gives sight to a blind person)? These are the questions, also interesting that arises Pfister, although the long clip we sense that the film wants to stir to action dystopian sci-fi spectacular, with a Depp / Coster returning in the flesh, but of course loses control and seems to be expanding his sights to less noble purposes.

Early scenes of Transcendence

The Oscar winner Wally Pfister aka the "protected" by Christopher Nolan and his cinematographer, has stated his directorial debut with the sci-fi Transcendence . Today in Sorrento was shown a video presentation of the film introduced by the Pfister that said to be working on the assembly and showed the first few scenes. Even in this case, the images were still to be completed ("what you see now, no definitive visual effects, will be very different from the finished film," the director said) but it was still well-scenes that have shown the opening words of the story.
In the sequences seen, in fact, was the character of the scientist Will (played by a convincing Johnny Depp ) who, during a very busy sort of conference, with confidence and passion exhibited the qualities of his creation of AI: a computer with capable of self-consciousness and emotions. At the same time you get to see moments of tension, gunfire, explosions up to the climax in which the same Depp is shot to death by firearms. To make out the man and create unrest in the country, as well as report the news, were the terrorists' anti-technological. In a hyper-computer room, the companion of life and professional Depp, a Rebecca Hall decidedly enigmatic, manages to extract a back-up in the brain of her husband and to do so "revive" taking it on the screens of other computers. The scenes have not seen anything visually shocking (but, again, the effects are yet to be finalized) and yet it must be said that the tension is built well in the dialogues and convincing evidence actorial Depp and Hall.
Transcendence hits theaters on April 17

Excerpt from an interview with Kate Mara

How does “Transcendence” compare to your other recent projects, what is your character Bree like?

I can’t really say much, they released a little logline about what the movie’s about. I can tell you that Bree is someone who’s against the technology taking over our world. That was really fun to play and research different organizations that are very much against that and watching some documentaries.

Any standouts?

There’s a doc that our director told me to watch, “If a Tree Falls” its about the Earth Liberation Front, the ELF organization. It was a really well made documentary. I base a lot of my character on people in that.

So, when do we think the trailer is coming? Unsure about it being with Hobbit next week due to the fact it hasn't been rated yet...

Your guess is as good as ours, seems that EVERYONE connected with this movie are sitting on their hands and doing NOTHING to promote it and to me that sucks, but yet Intersteller which is not out for another 12 months IS getting early promotion with a teaser attached to The Hobbit.

Ya boo sucks to be a Transcendence fan anxiously waiting ANYTHING to drop from this movie, WB/Summit/Lionsgate are just whistling in the wind with this movie :blank:

Sorry just fed up with waiting now.

I don't care if it gets released with The Hobbit or not, I just want something by the end of this month.
