Like Durden hinted, it's an honest but unrealistic story, which is why I gave it three stars. Many times the characters were parts of a movie world, not this one. Good editing though and a nice (and productive) little twist in the end.

I really don't think the intention was realism, more so a heightened reality.m4st4 wrote:Like Durden hinted, it's an honest but unrealistic story, which is why I gave it three stars. To me it looked like the scorsese kind of heightened/cinematic reality
Just watched this.
Here are are a selection of thoughts.
- ScarJo and JGl both have an interesting conflict of fantasies, both of them with unrealistic expectations, it works well
- JGL, bless his heart, but I don't find him convincing in certain roles, this happened here but I did somewhat appreciate the character
- The film felt stylistally bland, JGL had a few flashy ideas here and there but it seriously lacked a directorial identity
- Anyone who crushes on ScarJo, this may be their perfect film
- I wonder if Nolan's watched this, what were his thoughts
- Fair performances in general, the parents were hilarious
- I imagine JGL has watched an abundance of porn in his lifetime
- There is a reality here, most guys will have watched porn/do watch porn (despite what they say)
- JGL is a smart lad, getting himself into the central role surrounded by hot women
- The final culmination of events worked for the idea behind the relationship near the end was touching
- Ultimately this is okay/decent and that's about it, but it had me smiling/thinking more than most simply okay films
- Poor JGL has now contracted herpes from ScarJo

Am I he only one who didn't like ScarJo's character?
Nope.theseeker9175 wrote:Am I he only one who didn't like ScarJo's character?
I didn't, but I don't think we're supposed to. She was hot, but got sorta annoying really fast.theseeker9175 wrote:Am I he only one who didn't like ScarJo's character?
I don't get what's wrong with her character. It's obvious that her character is not intended to be that likeable at all. She is the typical flamboyant and kinda lost in their own pink maze type of girls. She's extremely relatable because she's a real character and not a caricature.
