Oh right, my bad. It's still amusing though.

Lol at calling him Solid Snake.

Did you understand it?
I'm not quite sure if I did. But my problems with the film do not lie within its ambiguity, or at least I don't think they do since I've been told over and over again that it's a film that can enjoyed without fully understanding it. But It's just rather that I found the film to incoherent and messy, like Kubrick was trying so hard to create something unique, artistic and different that it never really comes together as a coherent whole. I thought it was poorly paced and filled with extremely long winded shots of space in which while they look pretty, felt unnecessary at times. None of the characters are memorable aside from HAL 9000 and I did find the ending to be rather silly. So perhaps in regards to the ending, I may need more time to fully evaluate it.

I didn't hate it either, I'm just mostly indifferent towards it. It plays with some very interesting ideas such as alien life, man's evolution, fallibility etc. It has some truly fascinating moments and is technically groundbreaking. I really wanted to like this movie and perhaps my disappointment partly comes from the film's reputation of constantly being named as one of the greatest sci-fi masterpieces of all time as well as my film teacher constantly hyping it up and citing it as his all-time favorite film.

I don't know, as one of you guys said, perhaps I need more time to assess it or maybe it's just not my thing.

Fail-Safe ends again?
After it become apparent that they can't stop the faulty bomber and that all the fail-safes have, well, failed, he arranges to have a nuclear bomb dropped on New York as soon as the US bomb hits Moscow, so as to prevent nuclear war and prove that it was an accident.

I don't disown Kingdom of the Crystal Skull from the Indiana jones franchise

It has some redeeming qualities that I really like

It's not even close to Raiders or Crusade but i don't hate it nonetheless

Sean Connery suggests otherwise.
