Inspired by the Hobbit thread, since there's a good deal of debate there. I'm curious to see how many people do in fact dislike the trilogy. Hopefully we can have some good discussions with this one.
Personally, I do love the series, but I can understand why many people dislike them. It's a shame though, because once you're able to really appreciate these films, watching them becomes truly becomes a one of a kind experience, like you really have been transported to Middle Earth. It's fantastic.

But i cant take walking and talking for (in total) 9hours.
What about the massive wars and battles, all the monsters, the dark antagonists, the awesome protagonists, the epic quest, the battle between good and evil, the looming threat of total doom!

Much more than just walking my good sir.
Those battles didnt impress me.
Neither do the films.
You just dumbed down storytelling in general quite a bit there.. You can do this to every film ever made. 2001: A film about a fucking one-eyed computer. Taxi Driver: a film about a lonely cabdriver, who gives a shit. The Godfather: several hours about people talking about family. The Matrix: a film about a computer program. Shall I go on? or do you see how stupid you sound?
