i also read "The Strain" this summer (here in argentina, winter for people of the north heisphere). by guillermo del toro and chuck hogan, my mother gave it to me (i didn't have great expectations on the book, but i read it anyway). i wasn't so bad, but it wasn't so good either, it was fun but... del toro should devote himself to filmmaking, that's all i have to say

Haven't been to this thread in a while. Anyway, I read a couple of books. Would have been more but school got in the way. Anyway, here's what I've read.

Fiction

A Thousand Splendid Suns Khaled Hosseini 7/10 (The Kite Runner was better)
Blindness José Saramago 10/10
Batman: Haunted Knight Jeph Loeb

Non Fiction
Stop Dressing Your Six Year Old Like A Skank 7/10
Readicide Kelly Gallagher 8/10 It's a book about education and stuff but a teacher of mine thought that I would find it interesting so she let me borrow it.

And of course I read my wonderful World history textbook.

Richard Dawkins - The Selfish Gene

And I think the other was The Hobbit from Tolkien (I'm very interested in the movie adaptaion, so I decided to read the book first).

My friend is a huge Gaiman fan and has been going on and on about Sandman saying that I should read because it seems right up my alley. I think I'm going to have to give in and read it sometime this summer.

Are you reading them in numerical order or random?

Darkly dreaming Dexter

Darkly funny but I prefer the series. The character is very different.
