It's such a flawless movie. I love how it's directed by a woman and it's arguably Christian's best performances (after The Fighter).
It's a slap in the face to both individuals.
It angers me, because it's one of those films that I consider a consistent classic, event hough relatively new. It's amazing, and a remake is like some "fuck you" to the fans and the film makers.
You guys need to chill out some. It is by far my favorite movie starring my favorite actor in what I think is his most iconic role (yeah) and it's also one of my favorite books by my favorite writer. I do not want a remake. But I'm not gonna cry about it.
American Psycho 2 was a slap in the face.. not this. And still I don't get mad about that pos movie. I just ignore it.
SO if you really hate this remake so much just ignore it.

Mason I pretty much agree with every post u have ever written on this forum. U are for more eloquent and well versed than me.
I hate how this remake is being blatantly driven by potential profit and not artistic integrity. Normally I would not jump the gun and blacklist a film before I see a trailer or even a cast list...but pretty much have decided that I will not be seeing this film.

I KILLED THOSE PEOPLE.
Yeah, studios love to have their hands in the pot, making a remake such as this, they know it'll cause attention and will probably be watched by fans of the original. I think getting mad about this remake is suitable, Redsmile, because for fans especially, it's one big mess. Imagine if you were a die hard fan of Psycho back in the day, and you heard word of that awful remake. You could consider that a weak comparison, but it's not really.
Put in short, I don't agree with this remake, and I think it's just one big suit bonus. Stupid, pointless remake with (as GothamGirl said) no artistic integrity.
What if you didn't really care for AP? Would really be such a big deal then? No. If a solid actor is cast.. if they stay true to the core of the book... and there is lots and lots of stuff they could do from the book that wasn't in the other film.. it could maybe be decent... idk
I just try not to let movies get me worked up... unless it's in a good way. I don't think a film being remade is anything to be mad about.
Really tho this is just my way of not letting the idea of a terrible remake of my favorite film destroy my soul. If that happens then the bad guys win.

Remakes generally annoy me. I mean, sometimes they don't bother me for obvious reasons. Like, when a foreign film is remade in the US, it isn't that much of a deal, because it's understandable at times. But this is a film that came out not even fifteen years ago, and already they are remaking it. It does annoy me, but I see why some people wouldn't give a shit at all.
Not trying to say I'm more mature then you or anything... A mature person can be annoyed by remakes... but this seems like the kind of thing that would piss me off when I was 17... I was really angry back then... I just learned to not give a shit about anything if I could help it lol
