This is my favourite film of the year (so far, of those that I have seen). DiCaprio, Direction and Cinematography are Oscar worthy.

Lubezki proves once again he's an immortal in the world of DPs.

Inarritu? Hardy? Leo? Brilliant.

However, I felt this was just a better version of "The Road".

Also... it's very Bergman. Neorealism at it's finest.

What'd you think of Poulter and Gleeson?

It would be a crime if Chivo doesn't get a three-peat for this otherworldly piece of technical mastery. Not only is it the best looking film of the year BY FAR, it's one of the best of the decade. Every frame just oozes pure artistry and elegance; it's just mind-blowing how gorgeous it is. It should be the go to film for demo-material when studying great cinematography.

Excited for the cinematography and Tom Hardy and Dicaprio's performances in this, but that's about it.

Then again I wasn't excited for Birdman at all, but I ended up really liking it.

Gleeson was good. I'm excited to see what he'll do in the future.

Poulter was at his usual level. It's obvious why he was picked for that part if you consider his past performances.

Equal parts savagery and majesty, perhaps too grueling at times, but the exceptional craftsmanship and DiCaprio's insanely committed performance give it a soul. B+
