I'm not asking what was your favorite film, but rather what experience of going to the movie theater (or home theater) did you feel most entranced and entertained by the film?

For me…

The Dark Knight – Never before have I ever experienced so many emotions, and so much tension/suspense than I did in this movie. As embarrassing as this is, I think I may have been shivering during several scenes. I can’t recall correctly, because I was so absorbed by the film, but my body really did feel like it was going to explode. I saw it in Imax opening night, and the experience was one of a kind, you could literally feel the excitement amongst the hundreds of people waiting to see the film.

Inception – It came close to the feeling of TDK, but not quite there. The Mal scenes almost moved me to tears, I was really emotionally touched by the story between Mal and Dom. This movie also thoroughly blew my mind.

Avatar – Considering I was, well let’s just say “not sober”, and that it was Imax 3D, my mind was completely blown to bits. It was an amazing and beautiful experience.

300 – A gorgeous movie, and the action was really a sight to behold, considering 300’s style was very unique. Such a badass movie.

The Fountain – I was really emotionally touched by this film, and it really made me think about life. It had some amazing imagery as well.

Titanic – My third grade self had never felt more sad than I did watching Jack die.

The Matrix – My third grade self had never been more mind-blown’d.

The Star Wars Prequels - Say what you will about them, but as a Star Wars fan since I can remember, I really adored these films.

HP: The Chamber of Secrets - Was simply a great movie to watch, I was left wanting to know what would happen next the entire time. (I hadn't read the book at this point)

The Dark Knight midnight premiere. Went with one friend, talked to people I've never met before, saw some crazy fanboys, and the site of roughly 2,000 pouring out of the multiplex once the film was over is unforgettable. Plus, you know, the movie was amazing.

Sucker Punch midnight IMAX premiere. Went with a large group of people directly after going to a concert... really fun experience with my friends. Went crazy in the mall parking lot after... I had to run and jump in the back of my friend's car. Memorable night.

I loved Sucker Punch. If I was to continue my list it would definitely be on it.

Inception without a doubt is number 1 for me. I still can't put into words how amazing it was to witness that....

Inception - Not only was it awesome in the cinema but that ending plus an entire theater audience = OMG.

The Dark Knight - The film was epic and when the first few minutes...no...seconds opened, I was shitting bricks.

Transformers (2007) - Say what you will about this movie but I think it put on quite a show for the general audience, including me. It was action packed and somewhat looked stunning in the cinema. *ahem* The sequel on the other hand... .

LOTR: The Return of the King - My GOD! FUCKING EPIC! People in the audience were fucking cheering during final battle at the Black Gate and we all went crazy when Sauron was defeated. Never had a cinema experience as awesome as that ever since. :D

Toy Story 3 - I could that half of the people in the theater were like me who had watched the series since we were little kids. How? So many people were either sniffing or checking something in their eye if you get what I'm saying.

This is a great question but fuck it's hard! There has been so many. Inception was the last one that blew me away and is prob number one...

Also I rented Casino Royale and it just was amazing. I had the house to myself and just got so into it. I was pissed I didn't see it in theaters.

Batman Begins was amazing was well. I was just like wow you can show a superhero in a realistic way. Batman is my favorite character and to see him treated with such respect was awesome.

Somehow TDK isn't on my list.

curious case of benjamin button - When I was back in highschool my friends and I decided to cut class for the afternoon and go to the theaters. We were the only young people in the audience and after the movie we felt good knowing that our whole lives were ahead of us and we have our youth. And we could tell that the other people in the crowd (mostly 40+) were miserable looking because they were old.

Batman Begins - the moment after Gordon came out of the Tumbler, the power went off in my theater from a thunderstorm. We waited for awhile, but it never came back on. Most of the people in the audience left long before, so we had our own fun time hanging out in the. In the end, we got free tickets to come back anytime we wanted and see whatever movie we wanted to. Came back I think the next day and saw BB again... and so glad because of that ending.

The Dark Knight - the trailer made me think the finale was the Tractor Trailer/Batpod sequence. When I realized there was another hour left in the movie, I was so happy :D

Indiana Jones IV/Robin Hood - the reason these movies are together is because the first 20 or so minutes of each film gave me an adrenaline rush like I hadn't experienced elsewhere.
