After a huge start to his career, with media dubbing him the next Steven Spielberg, M. Night Shyamalan sputtered a bit in the early-2010s with two massive failures, “The Last Airbender” and “After Earth.” But over the past five or so years, the filmmaker has reinvented himself with a series of low-budget thrillers that have delivered good box office returns and fan appreciation. Even his most recent film, “Old,” which was released in July (during a pandemic) was able to make nearly $100 million worldwide off of an $18 million budget. He’s hoping to keep his new winning streak intact with the upcoming 2023 feature, “Knock at the Cabin.”

According to Deadline, M. Night Shyamalan’s next film, which was previously announced as arriving on February 17, 2023, is now called “Knock at the Cabin” and will actually hit theaters February 3, 2023, a couple of weeks earlier than anticipated. Obviously, much like the previous films he’s done over the past several years, the filmmaker isn’t keen on releasing any plot details or even a hint at what fans might expect. However, with the title, you can’t help but think that perhaps Shyamalan is ready to tackle the tried-and-true horror staple of terrifying cabin films.

Universal didn’t release any reasoning for the release date change. But it’s quite clear that the studio is probably trying to put some distance between Shyamalan’s next film and the Marvel Studios feature, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” which is supposed to arrive on February 17, 2023. Now, while it’s still early, “Knock at the Cabin” is the sole major release for February 3, 2023, though that will likely change over the next year or so.

So, if you’re a huge M. Night Shyamalan fan, mark your calendars for February 3, 2023, when “Knock at the Cabin” is supposed to arrive in cinemas.
Very curious and eager to see this! I like what Shyamalan is doing now, with his more or less low budget genre films(I have yet to see Old).
