Hmm...I might actually buy a PTA movie.

Never thought I'd see the day.

IMO its perfect for a Criterion treatment. I don't even love the film or anything (it's not bad) but if I had to guess I would say its the kind of film that would get a Criterion release at some point. I've been expecting it to come eventually

Huh, so it does exist. I kinda pictured PTA just turning up to the set on the first day with a ragged copy of the book and a pen and tearing out pages and scribbling in new stuff as he went along. Wonder why it wasn't available to the public.

Well, she's the only female character with enough scenes so that is somehow quite sure. Even Reese Witherspoon has a small part. Based on the novel, of course.
Ehh, but how sure are we that this is going to be a faithful adaption? I'm more expecting PTA to keep the spirit of the novel, but to have made it his own somehow. Unless someone who has seen the film said otherwise.
lol at my skepticism of how faithful this adaption would be.

Honestly, I'm kinda surprised at how painstakingly faithful PTA was able to make it with 70% of the dialogue or so being the same in the original. But it definitely worked in my opinion. This is my second favorite of his after Magnolia for sure.
