I think the issue is competely different. The only films in theaters might soon be just blockbusters. This has been a trend for a long time now but it never fully realized. I guess foreign theaters will still show local movies but in terms of Hollywood I would expect much less cinematic output and of those that do come out, they will be big budget productions.

As for Nolan doing something smaller? Hell no. Let him do what he wants on a large budget until he can. Hopefully he can move on from the theme of time by now, and also venture into completely new territories and genres but still on a large scale.

Well, now this certainly adds more uncertainty to the situation. Whatever happens, some sort of change is most likely inevitable.

2020 seems to keep throwing punches through and through.
