David O'Connor (The Accountant) and Ben Affleck are looking to work together again. WB is closing in on a deal to adapt "The Has-Been".
“It centers on a former basketball all-star, who has lost his wife and family foundation in a struggle with addiction. He attempts to regain his soul and salvation by becoming the coach of a disparate ethnically mixed high school basketball team at his alma mater.”
O’Connor would direct with Affleck playing the former basketball star. Affleck will product alongside Jennifer Todd, Mark Ciardi and Gordon Grey, and O’Connor and Ingelsby are expected to produce as well.

Affleck can be a good director but he's always been a shitty actor. He should just give up.

Don't love Ben Affleck but it seems quite a number of people really don't like him. Why? :|

cuz poc are tired of only white people being “capable enough” in movies to lead them to a better path in life or success.

you do it a few times, nbd. you keep doing it for as long as the film industry is alive, to the point it becomes a massive cliche and trope, it starts pissing you off

i do think the label of “white savior” does get attributed inaccurately sometimes, but this does seem like a blatant example.

It shouldn't. But it also shouldn't be a tired cliche.

It matters more that Affleck's such a crappy, limited actor.
