This franchise went down the same path as the Fast and Furious films.
Why are they using the same colorist of Marvel?
Having said that ...
There are actually 2 set pieces which were particularly exciting and horrifying. Like, weirdly in keeping with the straight monster horror themes of the original film. Man, if this film was just the second act, it would have been exactly all we ever needed.
Instead, it's an overstuffed, contrived slap in the face to Crichton, Spielberg and anyone else like me who holds Jurassic Park in such high regard. You could at least argue the first Jurassic World film was almost a metacommentary on reboots or sequels. This is just ... absolute schlock that dips into parody.
Save your money.
