I went into the movie thinking it was going to be an intense spy drama, especially after the trailers and reviews, but it was 2 hours of a lot of nothing. The acting was amazing, but the story just never picked up. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out the revelation of the mole, and then when it was revealed...MEH.

Agreed it was my film of 2011, I guess not everyone is going to like it but these comments about expecting a big revelation at the end go to show people were expecting something ala Usual Suspects.Mason wrote:The best film of the year for me, practically unmatched. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo comes close.
The point with this is it is the anti Bond or Bourne, this is showing how mundane being a spy is and that it is not glamorous at all and about fast paced chases etc. The revealing of the mole was never going to be a huge surprise it was never supposed to be.
I personally can't wait to get my Blu ray and savour this masterpiece once again, Alfredson gave us a stunning debut and he's followed it with another cracker, I hope his consistency continues and they get to make more Smiley films with Oldman in sublime form.

I quite often enjoy films more on the second viewing than I did on the first.Allstar wrote:You really think you will change your mind drastically?steveportee wrote:I think I need to see it again.
So I finally saw this the other day.
After days of thinking about it I've grown to like it more and more, definitely going to see it again. I was really surprised by the music they chose though. However, I really enjoyed the ending piece.
