So you want established filmmakers to support your dislike so that it feels better to dislike it? But why would you need such shallow validation? There's plenty of other stuff out there too, it's just one movie in a sea. Pick something else and enjoy it perhaps.
No. I just think it would be funny if someone went "damn this movie sucked."

And do you really not see any of the posts I make where I talk about movies I like? Lol

I loved this movie. I love real-depressing-sad stories. It just feels real
I don't like happy. I don't want happy bright colorful movies. I want depressing shit, man, movies that makes me think about my own life, about how society can be toxic, about how people can be dirty and mean, about my goals in life, about my own existence and my own depressing times. I just find all this very interesting

Happy stories are kinda boring
Anyway, that's just my opinion

I really do not. But it has more to do with my absence from the forum lately, I've been trying to focus on the positive aspects of this passion we all share and the good majority of NF seems to feed on negativity. I'm against it, aren't you?

Is anyone really trashing this movie because it's depressing though? It's like the people defending it aren't even listening to the actual critiques. No one is complaining about it being depressing. Lots of depressing movies are beloved. This one is divisive for other reasons.

Sean Baker @lilfilm
Absolutely loved JOKER. Mark Friedberg’s production design and Lawrence Sher’s cinematography are drop dead gorgeous. Was lucky enough to watch a 70mm film print at @CineplexMovies Park Theater in Vancouver. Todd Philip’s best by far. THIS IS A FILM FOR ADULTS. NOT CHILDREN.

A billion dollars in profit for an R rated picture, multiple awards winning, fresh rated by critics and audiences alike movie is somehow also divisive? Narrative of the minority sure is strong these days.
