Unpopular opinion, aside from opening, visuals and the soundtrack... Suspiria is kinda TRASH.

Agree mostly. This remake has a ton of potential.

Was against the Suspiria remake before cuz I didn't like A Bigger Splash, but now I'm down.

Will be hard to top the lurid, feverish original tho.

I mean, they've made pretty solid choices across the board for cast, director, composer, etc.

I just didn't want them to turn it into some generic horror film, but it appears that most likely won't be the case so I'm down. I like how the original has very little common horror tropes (jump scares, etc.) and has more in common with a fairy tale, but I'm still a tad worrisome that the remake will focus too heavily on trying to make it "even more terrifying than the original" or whatever. I want the remake to retain the beauty of the original, which it very well might. Not to mention the original Suspiria seems to be having a resurgence in popular culture. I've seen headlines of it playing in select theaters and I believe it recently got put out on Blu-Ray.

The original's a great looking and sounding film (...minus the dubbing). The actual story/scares just really leave something to be desired though for me.

I remember constantly looking over my shoulder whenever I walked alone in the dark. *witch witch*

Do we know if Roma is getting a 2018 release?

also

First Man
Widows
MI: Fallout
The Girl in the Spider's Web
Backseat
You Were Never Really Here
Solo / Infinite War I guess lol

gosh, we're really going to be relying on the festival circuit this year to serve up some good movies. Other than First Man and Windows the last quarter of the year is barren.

It absolutely is. It wrapped in March 2017 and was announced for 2018, it's heavily rumored to compete in Cannes. If not, I guess Venice or Toronto.
