The TV series is set in the modern day. Not even comparable in the slightest.m4st4 wrote:Just watched finale of BBC Sherlock. I'd like to say: Fuck you, Guy Ritchie. Thank you.

Why wouldn't I? It's not like I'm comparing Hercule Poirot and Sherlock Holmes. Never mind the setting, it's the same deal. Only BBC feels a bit... Brainier.Mason wrote:The TV series is set in the modern day. Not even comparable in the slightest.m4st4 wrote:Just watched finale of BBC Sherlock. I'd like to say: Fuck you, Guy Ritchie. Thank you.
This. I literally wanted to walk out from Sherlock Holmes 2. Robert felt like some goddamn videogame action hero, insanity! And even the set pieces, wtf, I've seen better in some average flicks last year: you have a) slo-mo bartitsu and b)big guns and wood splinters, how inspiring. At the end of BBC Sherlock I almost cried how intense it felt, here? Not so much, laughed more likely.Vader182 wrote:If there's two things you could compare, it's this... same characters, type of stories, etc.
Richie's is mindless, absurd, and makes Holmes into an action hero with convoluted stories. The BBC series is extremely intelligent storytelling with deep characterizations.
