A rising director, [Neil] Marshall has episodes of Game of Thrones and Westworld under his belt; Hellboy marks his highest-profile film. He was so taken with [Charlotte] Kirk, according to a source, that last summer Marshall left the Hellboy production, which had begun shooting in the U.K. but was moving to Bulgaria, to spend time with her. Leaving the project at that point was highly unusual and Marshall barely returned in time to resume the shoot. He then stunned associates by splitting with his longtime agent turned producing partner and abandoning other potential projects. He and Kirk moved in together as Marshall devoted himself to pitching horror films that Kirk would not only star in but co-write.

Not sure but, regardless of whatever she does, it doesn't help the guys from looking like complete and utter idiots

Man, this thing is getting pummeled. Holy shit, haha.

Serves them right, in my opinion. They should've never rebooted this. People wanted a proper Hellboy 3 from Del Toro, and it was ignored. That would've been the right move. It wouldn't have broken any box office records, but it surely would've done better than this will do.

Meanwhile, look at Del Toro now: Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director. Combine that with everyone's love for Ron Perlman and this would've been perfectly fine. Those two together brought an X factor that this could've never duplicated.

What a waste. Ugh.

The budget for this movie is said to be 85 million. Was probably higher than that. And it's R-rated. Imagine you're the studio, and you rejected Guillermo Del Toro's brilliant pitch for the final Hellboy movie because he asked for a hundred million dollar budget, but then you reboot the franchise, make it R-rated, spend 85-90 million on this new reboot, and it's a giant piece of shit that will bomb harder than any of the Del Toro movies. Kind of a crap business model, don't you think?

Yeah, rip what could’ve been the best Hellboy iteration yet. Everything went wrong.
