Well, that means this coming out next year is a lock then.

But I still think it's weird, since torrenting will probably spike like hell?

This is prob good news for a definite greenlit sequel. It’s guaranteed not to flop now lol. Unless the viewership numbers suck on HBOMax which I would doubt.

I think so too, but I wonder how all of this factors into funding ⊃∪∩⪽ II

Or basically anything new if it doesn't still make stack at the BO

But I must say the idea of Villeneuve now more likely getting to make the sequel does sound wonderful tbh ngl

Also ironic that the
time gap
between shooting ⊃∪∩⪽ and ⊃∪∩⪽ II will probably
be longer than the actual time gap in the book lol

Lol I was thinking the same. All of these streaming services will need more and more content and will measure their success by different standards than before (number of subs plus viewership online plus smaller theater income).

Still, measuring success from BO is relatively easy, I just don't know how subscribers or viewer data is going to fund new projects? I guess you could say the same for Netflix but they're not exactly as transparent with their viewership data like say how much money a film makes at the BO. Then again, Netflix is a huge streaming platform so I guess all those accounts pay a lot of bills and budgets lol

So they would've made the original release date lol

As of now it's supposed to come out September 30th in my country, long ass pregnancy to go

“Warner Bros. might just have killed the “Dune” franchise.

Filmmaking is a collaboration, reliant on the mutual trust of team work and Warner Bros. has declared they are no longer on the same team."
