Herzog's Nosferatu is a masterpiece. Albeit a flawed one. It can be topped but it would be extremely difficult.£

Shadow of the Vampire is pretty interesting piece as well.

Another day, another remake of a movie I have not seen... However, Eggers needs to make period piece Horror movies for the rest of his life, so I'm automatically on board this train of excitement.

Instead of retelling the same vampire story we've seen done as classics twice (three times if you count Shadow of the Vampire) he could also just try to tell an original vampire story.
