Been spending my "vacation" on completing the filmography of several big name directors.

-Kubrick: "Barry Lyndon"
-Coen Bros: "Inside Llweyn Davis"
-Scorsese: "Brining Out the Dead"
-Ridley Scott: "White Squall" and "Someone to Watch Over Me"
-Francis Ford Coppola: "The Rainmaker" Can't seem to find his latest, smaller movies like "Twixt" and "Distant Vision"
-Tim Burton: "Big Eyes"
-Kurosawa: "Red Beard" and "Dreams"

despite its length, Yi Yi tbh. That and Brighter Summer Day are reasonably accessible domestic epics, with the latter acting as a sort of period gangland drama / coming of age story. His earlier movies, like Tepei Story and The Terrorizers, lean into a more post-modern Antonioni-esque sorta vibe. I love all of them, but I think Yi Yi is one of those movies everyone should see once.

it's not like ya'll don't have the time now ;)

Vader darling, where exactly would I find Yi Yi? I've been trying to find a torrent for a long time but there just doesn't seem to be one

I love A Brighter Summer Day better than YiYi. Edward Yang is unmissable, guys.

BTW, just watched The Whistlers (La Gomera), a film by Romanian auteur Corneliu Porumboiu, which premiered in competition in last year's Cannes. I love it, it's massive fun! A different type of noir filmmaking.
