The Trial (1963)
An adaptation of a Kafka story, this was actually quite anxiety-inducing. A man is told he's under arrest and charged witha crime neitehr he nor the audience knows and the rest of the film is him trying to "win" his case, though the film makes you understand that the justice system is so convoluted, any solution or authoruty so inaccessible that there is no hope of him ever gaining any insight into his legal situation, let alone himself. Any assumptions the protagonist has about anything are mostly guesswork, as no certainties are provided to him. The film feels like a prolonged nightmare. A powerful film by Orson Welles.
Psycho Goreman (2020)
This was rather fun as an ultraviolent Power Rangers homage. The make-up effects are good for what feels like a very low budget affair but that's also part of the charm. The film does show some pretty vicious violence and has an enjoyably twisted sense of humour.
Decision to leave. Probably the best directed film of the year? It will be hard to do better. What a great film. The sequence with the Mahler soundtrack is pure perfection. The last sequence also.

Three Thousand Years of Longing (2022)
It ain't Fury Road ( i mean that's to be expected), but still liked it enough. The cinematography was top notch and George Miller's artistic style stood out really well. Tilder and Idris was mostly good. Movie was pretty much let down by the script; some nice ideas and had its moments though. Worth it for the visual experience, if nothing else, for a discounted ticket price. Actually, I might rewatch this movie someday just for the experience.
