It was kinda nice, laid back and somewhat fun to watch. Al Pacino was definitely fun to watch. I did wish some of the character had more screen time and be more involved. But at the end of the day i see no reason why i'd come back to this movie.

Gremlins 2

First time I watched this. While I like the first movie more because there is a legitimate sense of threat from the creatures, this was bonkers fun but I wished Christopher Lee was in it more. Love the practical effects and the weird concepts. The characters are not super developed but we all know what we've come here to see anyway: the murderous muppets with a penchant for chaos.

8.5/10

The Current War: Some good performances, but this could've been an even better narrative tbh. Also, I'm just going to say it; Tom Holland is easily the weakest of all these actors lol

Beautiful Thing: I really liked this. A good combination of coming of age and coming out, but the main couple were outshined by more dynamic supporting characters.

Harriet: Well, Erivo was pretty good.

Another Earth: Marling is a proper lead and I liked this films' melancholic view on her past actions. I really liked this take, this idea of a dual/mirror world to ours has been worked out in film before, I really loved The Double Live of Veronique.

Driving Miss Daisy: This was such a heartwarming film. Great performances and a great remaster.

City of Lies: So much wasted potential, also what was up with the cinematography and mostly that color grading?

Conan the Barbarian (2011): This was pretty bad.

Sahara (2005): lol

The Flowers of War: I like Zhang's work and Bale is great in this film. Zhang manages to balance the insane violence of the rape of Nanking and a tender story of protection and sacrifice.

Monsters: Like Another Earth, the atmosphere exceeds the low budget but I thought this didn't have as much meat on its bones as the aforementioned film.

Alive: I knew what the survivors did in order to live but man, I didn't know they were in those mountains for so long! tf!

The Killers (1946): I loved this. It certainly was ahead of its time. The opening scene is full of tension and the ending is too. The multiple flashbacks worked really well. Gardner was a true beauty.

A Perfect Murder: This was so much fun. Douglas goes all in.

anatomy of a murder

i dono if the ending is great or dumb

True lies

What an excellent movie about restoring the marriage and family in general.
Action and stunts are just insane, holy shit! Literally couldn't keep my jaw closed.
And Paxton is hilarious

Extraction

I have to be honest, this was somewhat... enjoyable :D In a world where John Wick was so successful it got two sequels, I think Extraction has nothing to be ashamed of. To me it was a 'more sensible John Wick'. Action is still over the top in a different way, and gunfight becomes tiring towards the end - but it's set in an interesting environment, there are tons of local actors, half the film is in Hindi, and the story makes sense. So... apart from the somewhat boring final fight, this was surprisingly okay for me.

The Irishman: bruh

The Faculty: Fun soapy based on all monster movies monster movie. It's fun seeing this cast, especially because most of them are at the start of their careers in this.

Segio: I think they could've gotten a whole lot more out of this. It often feels very disjointed. The Moura/De Armas scenes are good, but they were botched up by the narrative. De Armas is great.

The Getaway: I really loved this. McQueen and MacGraw were stellar. The relationship struggle felt pretty intense at times. MacGraw has such screen presence, same as McQueen, they were a good match.

And Then We Danced: I loved how honest this was. It wasn't a full on love-story it sets out to be but I think it's for the better. The film just oozes with life.

The Year of Living Dangerously: Weir is such a great director. Gibson brings in a nuanced turn, Hunt is terrific and Weaver impresses even though she's got a relatively small part to play. I mean, the film tackles a lot, from the unknown around us to romance to civil war, you name it. But somehow Weir manages to make it all feel connected and whole, without just throwing everything at it and making it look like he wanted to say too much with it. It works.
Also, this film desperately needs a proper blu-ray! Even the DVD looks bad lol, but I'm sure the film will look splendid on blu.

Honestly... this is Flashpoint and UTRH tier.
It's what Infinity War/Endgame should have been.
