Wow. Really liked this, in the same level of Hell or High Water. Looking forward to what Sheridan do next
Renner and Olsen were incredible. Also
Nice to see Bernthal playing a nice guy. Was a nice suprise to discover that he was the boyfriend and not the raper.

I was looking forward to this, but was disappointed.

You can definitely feel that this is a directorial debut; or maybe I just think that because I knew that going in.

Monologues frequently come out of nowhere and feel forced.
At one point, a supporting character does this fake-cry thing that you see five-year olds do to get out of punishment or something; it's terrible.
The climactic showdown doesn't make any sense from the bad guys' point-of-view.

It's still worth watching, though; it didn't make me angry or anything.

Hell or High Water > Sicario > Wind River.

Taylor Sheridan completes his trilogy and Renner gives the performance of his career. So good.

Harrowing.

The effects were kinda cool, especially early on when a wolf is killed by a rifle, all in one shot. The violence in this film is hard hitting and intense.

Though, I thought some of the direction and dialogue was kinda off, like finally or emotionally inappropriate, sometimes unintentionally funny.

7/10
