These arguments are so silly. The wampa in The Empire Strikes Back is a ‘plot device’. Does that make the scene or movie bad?
This makes no sense
The scene was an important growth moment for Luke in addition to providing visual exposition to the auduence about the force. That scene also sets in motion the entirety of the film and Luke's arc. Rey's scene is literally placed there just for exposition. It's idiotic.
If you stare at a blue wall long enough, you can come up with infinite reasons as to why the wall being blue "matters." But youre equally not being ignorant or obstitant if you just realize the wall is blue because the painter painted blue.

There's reasonable evidence that Terrio is telling the truth. Often, side materials take cues from the movies and in Age of Resistance, Rose is Leia's new "right-hand." So the idea that Rose stayed behind with Leia, they incorporated that plot element into Age of Resistance, and her scenes later got cut because the Leia stuff is (obviously) bad, does stack up.
It happened with a big change on Last Jedi, too. Holdo's character in the books was more "hippy-dippy" and Luna Lovegood-esque, while her character in the movie became more hard edged, leading to a lot of fans being mad at the change.
I don't think this excuses why they couldn't incorporate Rose into the reshoots to have a bigger role, but it does explain their intentions.
