I mean it looks visually stunning and a different take on the original (and we mostly complain Disney does the same shit only far worse), but also like a poor man's Zhang Yimou.

I mean at least it’s not a shot for shot remake like some of the others. :lol: That alone makes it more appealing, I do feel they should have gotten a Chinese filmmaker to helm this though.

Or how they could easily speak Mandarin with subs but instead talk in classic Hollywood forced English. Even in post Parasite era that's too much to ask from Disney.

We want to show the kids what cultural diversity means... But not too much!
