I agree almost on both accounts. Whiplash is a better film (although this is also very good and will be way more iconic than Moonshine) and The Handmaiden works better the longer you let it sink in. I still wouldn't say it's the best film of 2017 but it keeps rising up the ranks.

Whiplash to Black Swan is what Requiem for a Dream is to Trainspotting for me, whichever one I saw first, opening me up to these themes, is just what sticks with me more.

Toni Erdmann, The Handmaiden and Manchester by the Sea were my masterpieces of 2016.
