Knives Out is an original IP that is released by a much smaller studio than WB. Justice League is not Snyder's original work and he was working for multiple bosses on this film.
It's one of the major issues with late stage capitalism. The film was never truly Snyder's since the IP has multiple people overlooking it. His work could legally have been taken away from him at any time and WB has every right to keep it or release it.
If Johnson were in the same position as Snyder, I'd feel bad for him because dude is genuinely a great writer and director and Knives Out was his original work 100% and no one else's.
With comic book movies, I'm not inclined to care as much. Snyder just seems like an attention ho now.
Justice League was never going to be a 100% Snyder product. Man of Steel wasn't (product placement porn galore) and BvS wasn't (so many fucking rewrites and pushbacks).
I genuinely do like Man of Steel and BvS but let's not act like the dude is Picasso making some great generation defining art. They're corporate advertisements for toys.
I’m on Snyder’s side because of mustachegate alone. They butchered his film so badly and tried to frame it as his “assembly cut” was unwatchable. I think most directors agree: all assembly cuts are unwatchable lol.
He says a cut exists? I believe him. Is it fully finished? I don’t know. What I don’t get is if some of you don’t care about JL, why don’t you just move on instead of telling people not to care about something they’re emotionally invested in?
But whatever keep the banter going... as long as it’s civil
Personally I’m not telling anyone to care or not to care about anything. People are just missing the point that they are likely dramatically twisting this into something it never was.
Dude a couple of posts up even brought up Snyder’s daughter’s tragic death as if saying he worked so hard on this he lost his daughter “in the process”. As if his daughter’s life was a price he paid for his vision. As if that somehow serves as proof of the studio sabotaging his work. What an atrocious thing to say. It was a tragedy, yet completely unrelated to the previous making of the film up until he left.
I get why at least a portion of people stand up for him - by all accounts he’s a great guy. But he’s also fanning the flames for fringe fans to act all cringey online.
At this point I’m pro releasing whatever material there is, let it speak for itself. But if it ends up being horrible, people won’t shut up anyway.
Zaddy literally invented color grading and desaturation and cinnabontopography
He’s the best cinnabontographer known to man

On a serious note, if they indeed planned to fire him and used his daughter’s death as a cover up then they should be ashamed of themselves. But yeah I don’t think atilasantos worded that correctly.
Also, I remember when the film first came out and he was completely silent about it, and to be honest I like that he is speaking out. Unfortunately toxic fans used that to their advantage. I truly hope he’s negotiating with them in secret.
