This is kind of going along the lines of the "Your Last Disappointment" thread, except the exact opposite. What films have you seen that you thought you would hate or not care for that turned into movies you enjoyed quite a bit?

Mine include:

Ratatouille
Star Trek (Abrams)
(500) Days of Summer
The Losers
Coraline
Sunshine
Batman Begins
Kick Ass

I'm sure I'll think of more later...

A Good Year
Dune
Valkyrie
Anna M.
I Am Legend
S1m0ne
Solaris (2002)
Sorcerer
Thief
Babel
Marnie
The Mist

I was aware of some of the negative opinion surrounding these films before I saw them -- all of which I subsequently disagreed with.

Do you mean Sunshine with Ralph Phienes or the one with Cillian Murphy by Danny Boyle

I'm with you on Coraline, very interesting and impressive film. I think Bad Lieutenant with Nick Cage is very good, surprising since Cage had been in terrible films of late.

the last ones were Kick-Ass, Agora, Carlos, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, My Name is Khan and I think Prince of Persia also since I thought it was going to suck big time and actually was very entertaining..
