A wonderful opening with Spielberg talking about Lawrence of Arabia.

Him nearly losing faith of becoming a director because Lean set the bar too high was great.

An interesting portrait. Worth a look for any film fans.

I want to see it but I dn't have HBO and I don't see it anywhere else.

I have seen it and it's fantastic. Spielberg is my favorite director and I never knew anything about his personal life (as is the case with Nolan). Normally I'm not interested in people's personal lives but I am interested in good documentaries and this was one of them. Learning his family dynamic really painted a clear picture of the themes in his films. Yu always knew they were there but now it telss you why they were there. His parents are the highlight of this film for me and how his filmography reflected that in his filmmaking. From Jaws, E.T. and The Color Purple and then you have something of a reunion with The Last Crusade and Saving Private Ryan.

It was nice to see all of the pack comments in the film. De Palma, Lucas, Scorsese and Coppola.

And finally it reminded me that I've never seen Sugarland Express.

He's comfortably been one of the UK's strongest filmakers ,especially in recent times with his fascinating subjects,calculated narrative and his ever present use of great music.
Bitter Lake,The Power Of Nightmares and Oh Dearism have stuck with me the most from his works.

Hope to see more of his Docs in the coming years.
