I'll tell you what. Jyn Erso has much more characterization than Luke Skywalker. Star Wars has never been about in depth character development. All you need is a likeable group of people that you can root for, and this had exactly that for my money.£

I have to see it again before I change my score. I doubt I will, though. That climax is just too great.

I don't quite agree with this. Krennick killed her mother, kidnapped her father, destroyed her childhood and was the real face behind the creation of Death Star which destroys countless lives on Jedha including her mentor Saw Freira (Edit: lol I meant Gerrera). What more evil could he have wrought in this film to earn the status of a worthy adversary? How much more despicable he could have been than when he throws snarky remarks about the last words that Galen's wife uttered, before she died.

Tarkin and Vader not having much affection for him is actually a strength. They are more upset about his accomplishments than his failures. They don't like that he's ambitious so they punch him around, they emphasize on his failures and ignore his impressive achievements, because they don't want to see him getting places.£

This thread and this movie at this point. Nolanfans rating too.
