THE DANISH GIRL: HooperVision is still a thing, now with added Hammershøi. Decorous, petal-scented, skin-deep. Vikander outclasses Redmayne.

It's early and Redmayne/Vikander will at least still be nominated.

I wonder how much of this is Hooper backlash vs. the film actually being meh. We will see.

lol I wasn't being serious.

I don't mind Redmayne getting a nomination. A nomination, not an award though.

That backlash would have happened for Les Misérables (a stellar film for the record. By far my favorite of his three films) after all the hate he received for getting the Oscar and it didn't. This film probably just sucks (and it sounds so baity anyway).

The rating was actually B-/C+

The Independant - 3/5 http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-enter ... 88173.html
Einar, is played with extraordinary sensitivity and dignity by Eddie Redmayne, who won an Oscar and Golden Globe for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything and may well be in the running for such awards again. He is a quiet and seemingly passive character, but one who notices and feels everything.
The Upcoming - 4/5 http://www.theupcoming.co.uk/2015/09/05 ... rl-review/
This is one of the finest, if not the finest cross-gender performance ever seen on screen
Hey U Guys - Positive http://www.heyuguys.com/the-danish-girl-review/
Tom Hooper may not have created a masterpiece, but this is a visually attractive film about a fascinating subject.
The Wrap - Positive https://www.thewrap.com/the-danish-girl ... om-hooper/
The trans community gets a lush and slightly stiff prestige movie to call its own, buoyed by Redmayne and Alicia Vikander‘s powerful performances.

I will bet cash money with any Hooper fanboy that Redmayne will not win the Oscar again.

Who has the balls?

He needed undeniable notices to win again and he obviously doesn't have that. It truly may be DiCaprio's year. Redmayne's nomination is still safe though especially because I see this still being received positively, just divisive like Les Mis.
