I imagine they'd make an animated series out of it more than anything else:

Mutt Williams spinoff/Indiana Jones reboot with Chris Pine/Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: The Final Cut with more CGI monkeys... endless possibilities await.

No way, the Star Wars universe and canon has become wide enough for a new film to be welcome as long as there's actual talent behind it, but Indiana Jones shouldn't be touched any more.

I dont really care, the originals aren't going anywhere since its not like they're rereleasing new editions with a bunch of cgi enhancements or anything.

Besides, another reason they can't bastardize it as much as they did star wars is that it will just never sell like anything out of the sw universe.

A week after announcing that it’s purchased the marketing and distribution rights to future “Indiana Jones” movies from Paramount, Disney says it will be at least two to three years before the archaeologist goes on his next whip-cracking adventure.

“We haven’t done anything,” said Alan Horn, chairman of the Walt Disney Studios while speaking at Variety‘s Dealmakers Breakfast at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on Friday. “We don’t have a story. We need a story.”

As Indy's mind slowly deteriorates too, Marion is forced to look after him by herself. Mutt shows that he is of no use and leaves her to return to his greaser gang. Marion after suffering to look after Indy alone, she finally kills him and commits suicide. But this is out of love and only love.

Hey, that sounds an awful lot like that depressing movie from last year.

Indiana Jones 5 has been a Hollywood rumour that refuses to go away, but things appear to have grown a little quieter on the proposed sequel of late.

However, with Harrison Ford not getting any younger, Latino Review reports that Disney may turn to a younger man to pick up the whip and fedora, with Bradley Cooper at the top of the studio's hit-list.

The report suggests that Disney may be considering a James Bond-esque approach to the series, recasting the character while keeping the sense of overarching continuity nice and vague.

Should that turn out to be the case, we can expect an entirely new story, and not one that follows on from Crystal Skull in any way. Which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing.

Frank Darabont has reportedly pitched a story idea to studio bosses, although whether it revolves around a younger Dr. Jones remains to be seen…
