I'm not exactly sure what Flynn is going to bring to the table, considering that the original series' showrunner has been brought onboard as well. Utopia is far more darkly comic than any of Flynn's or Fincher's works, for that matter.
I knew you would comment on this and take it the wrong way. Based on this is now his 4th remake he is involved in.m4st4 wrote:Based on what exactly.Allstar wrote:Cool.

Dragon Tattoo
House of Cards
20000 Leagues Under the Sea (Which I still hope happens)
and now this.
Don't worry was not using it as a negative, more of an observation. Like I said this sounds cool and I want 20000 Leagues to happen.
Have you seen House of Cards yet Allstar? You would love it if not.

A fair thing to say would be - Fincher is obsessed with great stories.
And sorry to say but Jules Verne is long time bye bye.
I checked out promos of the original UK series, gonna try get through it before Fincher's remake comes out. Wonder how different it's going to look compared to the UK version - Fincher's visual style is the complete opposite of the original, and this is what will make this interesting IMHO, as well as Flynn being on board. Hope they at least keep the cinematicness of it all (or at the very least do it in 2.00:1 like House of Cards)
I've read Gone Girl in prep for the movie and found it very very mediocre. The movie needs to seriously elevate it's source material. I feel like Fincher's begun to coast since Dragon tattoo.
