Agreed, but this movie really has me interested. I'm a big fan of Watanabe and I think Gus is a great choice to take on such heavy subject matter. The script must be great to pull such big A-Listers

Here an interesting documentary on the forest itself, well worth the watch.

I think both are great for the role. Phoenix would have been great. Probably be able to sell the desperation a bit more, but I see on True Detective selling desperation pretty well. Plus he seems more like an outdoorsy kinda guy.
