Are you being intentionally reductive?

Very happy with the response so far.

No, just accidentally.

It's obviously a solid adventure, I was hoping for more but will decide for myself as always.

Yep, I'll take it. No one wants this to succeed more than I, but the marketing wasn't that great so I was definitely skeptical.

UPDATE: 100% on RT after 24 reviews. Wow.

I will say this, there is something that is bothering me moving forward, and any Potter fans feel free to weigh in with your opinion on this....
the whole Dumbledore may be openly gay thing. The reason I have a problem with this is simple: Rowling had 7 books and 8 movies to at least insinuate that Dumbledore was gay, and she did no such thing. After thousands of pages and probably 20 hours of film, if Dumbledore's sexuality was so important, that information should have been provided to us. Again, in the Deathly Hallows book, she goes into a backstory with Dumbledore and Grindelwald, and it is not even insinuated there is a romance there. Now, after the fact, we are going to have a potentially openly gay Dumbledore? Again, I just do not understand why this wasn't included in the original text, particularly when you consider that she never intended to come back to this world after Deathly Hallows, which again, leads one to think that she provided the most important details already.

Considering that the book this is based on is just a fun list of magical creatures, I think noone will say this is a bad adaptation because they can just do whatever they want. I have to say that I'm mostly interested to see the magical creatures on-screen.

I'm still so surprised at how well received this is. 100% after 26 reviews. I'm still not *pumped* to see it because of the marketing, but it'll def. be an opening weekend view for me now.
