what do we know about newt's character? he's quirky but sometimes he's not quirky? he's soft spoken?
does jacob like newt? does he think he's strange?
what are his thoughts on the existence of a wizarding world? is he curious? surprised?
what does his love interest see in him?
was there anything in the script performances or direction that suggested how we were supposed to feel?

I came into this movie not caring about anything in particular, came out liking all four protagonists, with re-ignited love for the Potterworld and aching for the sequels - mission accomplished JKR*.

*I never particularly cared about HP movies before and always preferred the books. I guess the fact that this is JKR-approved and new material at the same time helps a lot.

I liked this a lot! I mean, the story wasn't deep or complicated or something, but I had a great time. Redmayne was amazing as
Scamander and dude,
Johnny Depp
came as a total surprise.

8/10

I think they barely shot anything on location if not nothing. Should change with the sequel tho lol

7/10 for me

Not enough beasts yo. Dan Fogler's character was the best for me - such a wholesome muggle; compared to the potter films.
