Kind of sad they seem to be mostly abandoning the theme park thing, which was a big draw to me.

Yeah
On the other hand in the park they always seemed to go in circles with the revolution/breakout thing, so this might mean new and better things for the show

I haven't watched the trailer, nor will I lol, but I really like that
they're moving past the park. It seems like a natural progression and I think they've gotten everything out of the park as they could.

imo none of this is worth it but I'm sure I'll watch anyway. way more exited for Devs. Castlevania Season 3 is great.
PS I know you didn't mean it that way, but Mary Sue is kind of a gross gendered term best avoided
