Finding Nemo, WALL-E, Toy Story 3 and Inside Out.

Last time Pete Docter killed me it took him five minutes... an hour and a half into Inside Out, he did it again, bastard.

Glad I managed to watch this in original language after all, the cast was great.

Warning: May make men older than 18 cry.

What's weird is I kept thinking yeah this is a cool and imaginative concept but way too sentimental and obvious in places to make me- ...no, no, no why did...

If the human story isn't as captivating as the emotions' story, it's still Pixar's most imaginative outing to date, chocked full of visual discovery and emotional maturity. A-

Things were happy over at Disney as well with Pixar’s Inside Out racking up two records. The movie pulled in $91 million this weekend, which makes it the highest grossing original film (not based on pre-existing material) not only in Pixar’s history, but in box office history as well by edging out Avatar, which grossed $77 million on its opening weekend in December 2009. The movie is also Pixar’s second-highest grossing weekend overall trailing behind Toy Story 3, which opened to $110.3 million back in 2010.

Congrats Pixar.

I loved it! But damn I cried so hard when But I still think Toy story trilogy and The Incredibles are better.

I don't think I necessarily agree with Vader about the movie drifting towards coldness, especially w.r.t. the comparison with Inception. Yes the emotions are a bit one-dimensional just like most of the supporting cast in Inception but the movie more than makes up for it by constantly reminding us of the effects of their actions on Riley on the outside and I doubt a protagonist with very few likable traits as Cobb would stand any chance against an 11-year-old girl (dealing with family issues and the pressures of a new environment) in an emotional tug-of-war. The stakes are higher here and much more real than in Inception - the worst thing that could happen to Cobb is go to prison for a crime he did commit while his children still get to be raised by their grandmother. Maybe people would have connected more to Cobb and Inception if the children were being maltreated by their grandmother or being forced to eat broccoli.


I think the moment that hit me the hardest (I didn't really cry though) was when Joy fell into the memory dump - of course I knew she would escape - and for a brief moment there in the cinema I began to think about Riley being this generally unhappy person walking around and it took me back to the days where I would go for several days without even smiling to anybody.

Bing Bong died. It resonated well with me even though I didn't have an imaginary friend growing up.. . but Big Bong sort of represented the innocence of children. How children can be so imaginative, just good movie

Exactly. It resonated with me for the exact same reason and I've been thinking about it lately, before I even saw the movie... and then bam! Right in the face. They dug something out, lying dormant in most of us, that's just incredible.
