I think the structure of the film feels quite uneven, by the end the payoff doesn't feel like much because everything leading up to that is a handful of good scenes kinda squished together. PTA knew how to write some interesting scenes back then but he didn't learn how to string them together effectively until his next film.

tbh, i was choosing between meh and good. But decided to go with "good" because it felt more appropriate.

It's a bad movie in every sense. Story, acting... is a non sense "too crowded of everithing you can imagine in a sci-fi" film.
