I don't want to be off the topic, because it's not a film but a TV Series, but the score and soundtrack of the new Battlestar Galactica series is just mind-blowingly awesome. Bear McCreary is a genius!

Conan the Barbarian! remember that one? the film itself is nothing special but the soundtrack by Basil Poledouris is terrific!
